My Style

Friends describe my photography as candid, observant and organic.  I aim to document the individual(s) or their family life by capturing personalities and relationship in a natural and honest way.  Sometimes it is about perfection but most of the time it is about showing beauty in everyday situations and unassuming moments.  



Caroline Teo was born in Singapore and grew up in Bermuda,  Vancouver and Montreal. She lives in London with her partner and son. She studied Fine Arts at Langara College and Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada, majoring in Photography, minoring in drawing and printmaking. She completed her studies at Concordia University, Montreal with a BFA degree in 2000.

Since 2005, Caroline has worked professionally as a stills photographer/videographer in advertising, commercials and corporate shoots. Her images have been published in magazines and on billboards. Clients include Rolex, Peroni Nastro Azzuro, Pilsner Urquell, Grolsch, Coutts, Royal Bank of Scotland, Crown Estates, Grana Padano, Neff, Fosters + Partners, Ericsson, Vodafone, O2 and Cancer Research UK.

Complementing her work in advertising [www.carolineteo.com], Little Blk Bird focuses on portraiture of children, families and individuals, exploring themes of identity, relationships, dualities, home and play. Her latest project "London families" is shot with a medium format film camera.  Caroline's photographs have been exhibited in galleries in Montreal, Brussels and Vancouver. Her Hackney portraits in collaboration with writer Sommer Spiers was published in Critical Cities (Myrdle Court Press, 2010).  A selection of her personal images is available through Millennium Images.
